Art for Life Trust is a charity that provides art tuition for people living with a range of special needs. In the safe, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere of our studio at 190 Worcester Street in central Christchurch, our students explore painting and drawing in a range of materials with support from our Principal Art Tutor and our team of five dedicated volunteer tutors.Through their participation at Art for Life, our students enjoy increased confidence and social contact, and are given the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings through art. Our end of year exhibition where they sell their works in the community is a real highlight. We are seeking an organised and capable person to work closely with our Principal Art Tutor and current volunteers to develop and implement processes for the recruitment, training, retention, and recognition of our volunteers. The minimum commitment required is 4 hours per week for one year, with some additional hours initially to establish processes. Work can be done from home in your own time, with at least one visit per week to the studio to support and develop relationships and maintain connection with our team onsite.
This would suit someone with experience in the not-for-profit, arts and/or disability sectors. Great written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a positive and patient disposition.
