Ngaio Marsh House, in Cashmere, was the residence of the world-renowned crime writer and theatre director, Ngaio Marsh. The house was designed by Samuel Hurst Seagar and has a Category 1 Historic Places listing. It is now run as a museum to help promote Ngaio’s life and works.
We are looking for someone who has property management experience to support us with the maintenance of the property and ensuring that we are meeting the requirements of the Tenancy Act. As Ngaio Marsh House is a heritage listed property, an understanding of the Category 1 listing is also important.
This role will be the primary contact for the tenant and would be responsible for the upkeep of the building, including organising any contractors/tradespeople that come onsite. This role will need to work closely with the Trust members, the curator and the Friends committee to achieve this.
We think this role might require a bit of work initially as you get to know the property and deal with any urgent issues, but once that is done a few hours a month is what we would expect.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
