PIPS is a small independent charity helping support families in the Canterbury region for more than 40 years. We offer free, non-judgmental practical and emotional support to families in need. PIPS is looking for amazing volunteers who can give a few hours each week, Tuesday - Friday, within school hours.
This role is to help support staff to assist clients with their needs and enquiries. This role is client focused and involves client service, some administration and other tasks that will help our centre run smoothly. Tasks may include:
-Sorting and organising baby and maternity clothing, bedding or nursery items
-Cleaning/sanitising nursery equipment
-Cleaning/sanitising baby carseat/capsules
-Assembling and checking donated nursery equipment
-Keeping the centre clean and tidy ie. vacuuming, wiping down toys and surfaces etc.
-Driving donations to another charity or taking recyclable goods to the refuse station.
Ideally we would be looking for a 6 month+ commitment to this role.
Excellent communication skills, compassionate and understanding.
Able to handle equipment such as prams and lift up to 10kg.
Comfortable around children.
Recent vaccination for Covid19 is currently required.
Hours available between Tuesday - Friday, 9.30 - 2.30
