Various committee roles are available, depending on your interest and abilities. Abbeyfield is managed by a volunteer committee, helping keep rent affordable for residents.
Abbeyfield residents (12 or 14 per house) live in shared accommodation with their own studio units, encouraged to be independent in their daily lives and have a "live-in" housekeeper who cooks midday and evening meals. Breakfast needs are supplied. The house offers vegetable gardens and an orchard as well as flower gardens. Some still drive, some use a motor scooter.
Committee members help to maintain the safety, security and wellbeing of the residents and maintain the house. House Committee meetings are usually monthly in the evening.
