Dementia Canterbury is a local charity which supports those living with dementia in our community. Approximately 1 in 100 people in their 60s are affected by dementia. Our Younger Onset Programme helps these clients to access groups, education, and supports for them and their families. Physical activity is very important for those living with dementia to help maintain mobility and strength. We are looking for fitness minded volunteers with a heart for helping others, especially those in the Under 65's age bracket, to help with a new fitness programme. This will include some group exercises, use of gym machines and music and movement. An interest in physical activity is essential, and familiarity with a gym environment would be beneficial.
