The Salvation Army in Rolleston operates a Worship & Community Centre, Generation House, located in the heart of Rolleston on a 2.5 acre property.
From Generation House we provide social supports (food bank, advocacy, youth development), run a small cafe and provide spaces to different counselling services.
With so many things happening in this space, we’re looking for help to maintain our gardens and grounds. This ranges from mowing lawns (we have a ride-on), to weeding, through to various other grounds projects.
Fit and Healthy - able to work on the grounds safely without hurting themselves.
Able to maintain confidentiality of people who come into Generation House.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
This is a very flexible role in terms of time commitments. For health & safety reasons most grounds work needs to be done with at least one other person on-site, but this could be during the week or on Saturday.
A commitment of about 3 hours a week would be standard, but there’s always more garden to be looked after.
