At TechMate, we're passionate about helping people learn more about using digital technology.
We have our own site in Addington, and we're also active in the community helping out at other groups and organizations. We need digital technology enthusiasts to join our volunteer team. For these particular roles, we are looking for somebody in the following areas:
Spreydon/Barrington/Sommerfield
Hornby
We're looking for volunteers who can work one-on-one with clients. The client directs these learning sessions by asking the questions they want to be answered. We may ask for help with a specific project or admin task from time to time, so some adaptability would be helpful.
Although we welcome geeks, you don't need to be one to be a good fit for this role. Most of our clients have pretty straightforward needs. If you can use your phone, send an email and have patience, empathy and the ability to work with learners, you have the skills we need.
This role contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal
10 Reduced Inequalities
Patience, empathy and the ability to work with learners. Some knowledge of digital devices would be helpful.
The ability to work independently would also be a huge help.
1-3 hours a week, although this could change, and we are flexible depending on your needs.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
