Seeking a volunteer Trustee, ideally a resident of Phillipstown, to serve on the Phillipstown Community Centre Charitable Trust Board. Help guide and govern the organisation that responds to the needs of the Phillipstown by providing space to relevant people, groups and organisations; enables and enhances residents' collaboration, connection and networking; provides and preserves significant, accessible green space for the community; and supports other aspects of community development

This role contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal
11 Sustainable Cities and Communities

Requirements:

Trustees:
• Uphold the purposes of the Trust Deed and the organisation's Mission, Vision and Values
• Support paid staff and volunteers
• To provide strategic direction and organisational governance
• Attend all meetings or inform the chairperson or Secretary if they are unable to attend a particular meeting
• Read meeting agendas, minutes, financial report from the Treasurer and the Manager’s reports, and such other material as shall be relevant in order to provide informed contribution to discussions at meetings
• Support the policy decisions made by the Board even though they may differ in opinion. The aim is to reach decision by consensus
• Support the Chairperson in facilitating discussion and be willing to ask questions and contribute to decisions at meetings
• Wherever possible promote the work of the organisation and its values to the community. The Chairperson or their delegate will be the sole spokesperson for the Board
• Act in the best interests of the organisation and without self-interest at meetings
• Accept shared responsibility for planning and oversight activities
• Maintain confidentiality
• Acting as a Trustee carries certain legal obligations.

5-10 hours monthly
