Who we are
The Christchurch City Mission, Te Whare Mīhana Ki Ōtautahi, is a social services agency that helps anyone who needs it regardless of their circumstances. Men’s Day Programme provide every person who attends with warmth and respect and a chance to grow towards wholeness, by offering individual and group programmes and activities in a planned, calm and supportive atmosphere.
About the position
We are looking for a volunteer who is able to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and demonstrate professional and personal boundaries at all times.
-Assist staff to deliver the programme’s purpose by supporting this safe space and the clients partaking in group activities, wellbeing exercises and having chats and a cuppa with the clients.
-Welcome clients, initiate conversation and ensure they feel heard.
-Assist with kitchen duties, technical/ICT issues, keeping things clean and tidy, and morning tea/lunch as required.

Full training is provided.
The day programme sessions are Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to one or more of these sessions.
