Are you able to commit a small amount of regular time to build a relationship and provide support on a medium to long term basis, to a family who have a child with high and complex needs? The support you provide will typically be delivered as a weekly 2-4 hour "block of time" as an extra pair of helping hands. It could be anything from getting other children to commitments, right through to baby sitting the child with complex health needs while the rest of the family have time together, run an errand or even have a nap.
Families tell us that ANY help offered with kindness makes an incredible difference to them!
If you are interested in supporting families to maintain their well being and build their available supports, despite the challenges that come with having a family member with ongoing health needs and disability, then we would love to hear from you.
