Group Volunteering

Our Group Volunteering Programme encourages teams to support their members in carrying out voluntary projects. Whether your team is a business, school, club or special interest group, a non-profit partnership is a win-win for all involved.

Check out our latest Group Volunteering Programme Overview, and join teams who have already utilised this programme to 'Make their Mahi have Meaning’. See below for more information on how we work with groups, and feel free to contact us with any queries.

How It Works

Group Volunteering is an opportunity for businesses, schools, clubs and special interest groups to utilise their interests and values in a voluntary capacity, to help meet the needs of community organisations in a practical way. It's also a great way to support your team's wellbeing - ticking all the boxes of the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Be Active, Learn, Take Notice, Connect and Give!

  • Information and advice about group volunteer project opportunities
  • Consultation with your Group to design a volunteering project tailored to your needs
  • Brokerage of projects between Groups and Community Organisations
  • Provision of a Form of Agreement, including Health & Safety aspects
  • Programme monitoring and evaluation
  • Promotional material and presentations to teams about Group Volunteering
  • Assistance in developing an Employee Volunteering Policy, if required
  • Improve relationships with the communities in which you operate
  • Improve public perception of your business or organisation
  • Help team members learn more about your community and the challenges it faces
  • Boost the morale of team members and employees
  • Build team spirit and a sense of cohesion
  • Improve productivity and wellbeing of team members
  • Provide a new avenue for professional and personal development
  • Improve the ability of businesses to attract and retain high-calibre employees
  • Enable businesses to meet Social Responsibility obligations
  • Enable you to help others and support your community
  • Increase your understanding of community needs and issues
  • Use your skills and knowledge in new settings
  • Try out skills and use creativity that may not be required in your workplace
  • Learn new skills, broaden your experience and develop your career
  • Develop teamwork and leadership abilities
  • Build a bridge to a new type of job or to retirement
  • Meet new people
  • Make professional or business contacts
  • Create balance in your life by getting involved in something that you care about or by trying something new
  • Increase personal satisfaction and self-worth
  • Improve your mental and physical health
