Celebrating 35 years of Community Impact

Volunteering Canterbury, a leading organisation in connecting volunteers with community projects, is excited to announce its 35th anniversary on September 22, 2023.

For the past three and a half decades, we have been dedicated to making a positive impact in the region, fostering a culture of giving back and community involvement. Our city has been through a lot and through it all we've found giving back in a volunteer capacity is extremely beneficial, not just for the wider community for the individual too.

To mark this special milestone, Volunteering Canterbury will be hosting a Newcomers Volunteer Expo on Sunday, 24 September, 1-3pm in Te Ara Ātea, Rolleston.

This event offers a unique opportunity for the public to engage with various organisations in need of volunteers. There's an abundance of options, more than people realise, and this event will demonstrate just that! It'll be a chance for attendees to open their eyes to the world of volunteering opportunities at their fingertips, connect with like-minded individuals and make a difference in their community.

The Newcomers Volunteer Expo will feature a wide range of organisations from all sorts of sectors, providing a great visual atmosphere and soundscape of enthused people.

Whether you're passionate about the environment, supporting vulnerable people or yelling at kids from a sports sideline, there will be a volunteer opportunity that aligns with your interests and builds on your skills.
