Cantabrainers Therapeutic choir is for people living with a neurological condition such as stroke, Parkinsons, MS, traumatic brain injury. Experience helping people with a disability would be desirable but not essential.
We are looking for a volunteer co-ordinator that can give 4-5 hours per week to help manage our current and future volunteers (estimated 6-10 volunteers). The volunteer co-ordinator would attend our choir sessions and help organise a roster for the other volunteers. The volunteer co-ordinator will report to our General Manager and work alongside our Music Therapist and Speech Language Therapist.
Our current volunteers are wonderful and very loyal. We would like help to recruit new volunteers to provide extra hands each week, and provide cover for sickness or holidays.
The role would also help with simple administration tasks like updating our member database, assist with registrations, update attendance records and provide a brief report of each choir.
This will be a new role so someone that is able to develop the role and make it their own would be great. They will need good organisational skills, have good people skills and a positive can-do attitude.
We will provide suitable training, professional development and support. Police vetting will be a requirement along with good English skills.
4-5 hours per week
Attend our City Choir Wednesdays (9.30am-12pm) and ideally our Woodend based choir Tuesdays (1-3.30pm)
It is not essential to attend both choirs each week but being able to visit the Woodend choir once a month would be valuable.
Being able to make your own way to the venues would be important.
