We are a community farm with a productive garden and plot holding, as well as a foraging pathway open to all. Our garden provides fresh produce, and our plot holding is a hub of activity where people come together to grow, learn, and share their knowledge and skills. Our mission is to provide access to fresh, healthy food and educate on sustainable agriculture. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and grow, and our community farm provides the perfect space for that.
Volunteering is crucial to our community. Working bees are held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. There is always something to do, and we appreciate all the extra hands.
We're looking for trustees with skills and experience in governance. Even better if you have skills in applying for grants, event management, media and promotion, finance, policy development, or strategic planning. Most important of all is to find people with passion and energy for the vision and work of Smith Street Community Farm!
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Trustees meet monthly for 1.5 hours, usually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (5-6.30 pm or 5.30-7 pm, depending on trustee availability). You will also spend time on tasks between meetings.

The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
