You can help reduce re-offending and make a real difference to people's lives as part of our team of volunteers presenting a programme of simple practical philosophy to small groups of 'students' in Christchurch prisons, starting February 2025.
Our aim is to enable our students to make better decisions and wiser choices, so that they can make lasting changes to their lives - for everyone's benefit. Freedom Philosophy volunteers have successfully introduced these courses to other NZ prisons, with excellent feedback from prisoners, volunteers and Corrections staff.

You don't need to have some experience of philosophy or assisting with facilitation of groups, but if you do have some experience that's great!
What is needed are volunteers with an open-mind and kind attitude. We can provide training and you will be able to work alongside more experienced volunteers to learn as you go.
If you are on your own self-development journey, flexible, and have a calm, mature outlook on life, we'd love to hear from you.
