Open Christchurch is an annual, one-weekend-only festival of exceptional architecture in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Run by Te Pūtahi - Centre for Architecture and City Making, the festival, along with building partners and kaitiaki, will open up over 50 buildings for the weekend 2 - 4 May 2025, inviting the public to discover their city through architecture. Access to these great buildings and examples of design is an opportunity to both appreciate the aesthetic and spatial qualities of buildings, and to explore the connection between architectural design, storytelling, identity and place. There will be volunteers at each venue over the weekend, who will assist with information giving, facilitating expert tours, and health & safety. Almost all roles are customer-facing.
