Volunteer Opportunities

Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and actively participate in board meetings (typically [frequency, e.g., monthly/quarterly]).
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the organization meets its goals.
• Support fundraising and outreach efforts.
• Act as an ambassador for the organization within the community.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Interested candidates will be required to submit a brief statement of interest that includes:

  1. an introduction (briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a trust member),
  2. relevant experience (highlight any relevant experience or skills that make you a suitable candidate for the role. This could include professional experience, volunteer work, or personal attributes), and
  3. potential contributions (Describe how you believe you can contribute to the board and the organization. Mention any specific areas where you think you can add value).
Requirements:

• A strong commitment to the mission and values of the MRCC
• Experience in governance of NGOs and community organisations is desirable and ability to contribute meaningfully to the governance of the Trust in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Governance and regulation
  2. Strategic planning
  3. Legal/HR
  4. Policy and research
    • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with other board members.
    • Previous board experience is a plus but not required

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Board Meetings are held monthly (every 2nd Wednesday for an average duration of 2 hours) plus preparation work as required.
