Email us with a short paragraph about why you are interested in the role, what you are doing currently, and a CV (if you have one).
We need volunteers daily. The shifts are: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm. We are also happy to talk with anyone wanting a more casual role rather than a regular rostered shift.
Mrs Bumbleberry’s Lolly Shop Volunteers will enrich the experience of visiting The Arts Centre by being part of a welcoming, creative and very yummy place to visit. We are looking for people who have a morning or afternoon free once a week and really enjoy engaging with the public, sharing information about the site as well as selling them a tasty, sweet treat.
The role would suit anyone who has an outgoing, confident personality, and enjoys chatting to everyone as visitors always appreciate advice about what to see and do here. We provide training and ongoing support in all areas of the role.
We prefer a minimum 6-month commitment, but cover is provided for illness and planned holidays. It is not the ideal role if you are in the process of looking for work or back to work experience but rather for those already have an established routine and are looking to add a little something extra.
Mrs Bumbleberry’s Lolly Shop is located on the ground floor of the old Boys’ High building. A car park on site for your shift is available if needed. We also have secure bicycle parking.
If you love The Arts Centre’s old buildings and want to contribute to their ongoing upkeep and the public programmes we offer, this is a great way to support as all profits go back into helping fund these ongoing costs. Upon receiving your referral, we will send the role description. Training will be held as soon as possible.
Shop Volunteers should be personable, have a positive attitude, and be keen to make all visitors feel welcome. You must be confident and comfortable chatting to strangers of all ages and backgrounds, confident working on your own, be punctual and organised.
Once a week for 3 hours, 10-1 or 1-4. We would love our shop volunteers to make The Arts Centre an enjoyable regular part of their lives.
