At Brighton Gallery, we believe in the transformational power of art to help, inspire and connect. Our mission is to create an inclusive, welcoming space where artists of all backgrounds and abilities can showcase their work, share their stories, and engage with the local community. We are committed to fostering creativity, collaboration, and personal growth through art, offering a vibrant hub for artistic expression and cultural enrichment in New Brighton.

We are looking for someone who can help us:

  • ensure that the Brighton Gallery social media channels are populated and engaging
  • find new ways to tell our stories to engage with our artists, our class and workshop attendees, our local community and our funders
  • provide high level reports on metrics and data from our social media channels to help us plan future activities
  • contribute to the library of photos and other media we have to keep an active record of Gallery events and activities
Requirements:

We need someone who:

  • knows and understands our social media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok
  • understands storytelling and can tell stories that capture attention
  • is a good communicator - with all kinds of people about all things art and creativity
  • is able to work on site in the Gallery and from home as needed. (On site will be taking photos of art works, meeting people to capture their stories etc).
  • ideally has previously worked in or with the not-for-profit/community sector

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

1-2 hours a week depending on what is happening in the Gallery - some weeks are quieter than others.
