The Step Up Adventure Park Challenge is set across 358 private hectares in Christchurch’s Port Hills. Participants will hike the 5.3km scenic trail, enjoy a chairlift ride down, and gather at the Adventure Park café for a relaxed prizegiving celebration. This fundraising event is being held to raise funds to support the work of Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). You can find the event website here - https://www.stepupchch.org.nz/
We are looking for volunteers to help with this event, there are several roles available. Volunteers will help to guide participants, ensure their safety and cheer them on. Roles include:
Volunteers will also be required to virtually attend a Health and Safety briefing prior to the event. All volunteers will be provided with information and briefings about their role.
LBC is the national charity dedicated to supporting blood cancer patients and their families and we cover a range of areas including advocacy, cancer research, specialised blood cancer information, financial support, and personalised patient and whānau support. Some of these roles will involve being stationed outside for a few hours on the walking trail, so you will need to be happy and comfortable with this.
