Are you someone who enjoys connecting with people and making their day a little brighter? Join our compassionate team at Christchurch Public Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Unit as a Volunteer Oncology Host.
In this rewarding role, you’ll help create a warm, supportive environment for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Whether it’s offering a cup of tea, sharing a friendly conversation, or simply being present, your kindness can make a real impact.
🕒 Shifts are just 2 hours, and you’ll always be paired with another volunteer.
💬 No medical experience needed – just a positive outlook, empathy, and a willingness to support people from all walks of life.
If you’re ready to bring comfort and connection to those who need it most, we’d love to hear from you.
Volunteers in this role will be provided with full training and support from the Cancer Society and Christchurch Public Hospital, covering privacy, confidentiality, cultural safety, boundaries, interpersonal skills, basic cancer knowledge and hospital protocols.
