Volunteer Opportunities

Event Support

Organisation:
Volunteering Canterbury
Location:
Riccarton
Category:
Events
Hours:
Evenings/Weekends

We will be at Riccarton Market during 2026 - come and join us as we meet and greet with people enjoying the Market atmosphere at this wellknown weekend market.

We will be talking volunteering, have an activity (or two) and using our 'Wheel of Opportunity' to give people some ideas of where they might like to volunteer.

Two shifts (or stay for the day!) - morning til early afternoon. Dates available (pick one or more!):

Sunday 1 March
Sunday 29 March
Sunday 26 April
Sunday 31 May
Sunday 28 June
Sunday 26 July
Sunday 30 August
Sunday 27 September
Sunday 25 October
Sunday 29 November

Requirements:

You will need to have your own transport to get to and from the Market, and be prepared to be 'on your feet' for a few hours.

You will be meeting and greeting people, so you will be interested in starting up a conversation and having a chat with a range of people.

Time commitment:

Exact shift times to be confirmed - likely 8am to 11.30 and 11.30 to 2.30pm

You can commit to just one Sunday or more!

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
