Port Hills Work Party Member

Join a work party to maintain tracks and plant trees in reserves on the Port Hills - opportunities every Tuesday or twice a month Fridays/Mondays.

  1. "Ohinetahi Team" - preparing tracks, cutting back weeds, planting trees at our reserve in Ohinetahi Valley or Governors Bay.
  2. "Eastenders" - work on tracks & reserves in vicinity of the Summit Road from Godley Head to the Sign of the Kiwi. Own transport essential. Hoped that new Work Party could be formed to take over from the Eastenders to work from Castle Rock to Sign of the Kiwi. This could include working in Mt Vernon Park & gardens surrounding Sign of the Kiwi.
  3. "Omahu Team" - track maintenance, planting, weed control and animal pest control. Regular conservation activity on the Port Hills.

As a Society member, volunteers can participate in organised recreational and educational activities.

Requirements:

A reasonable level of fitness is required.

Time commitment:
  1. "Ohinetahi Team" - Leave Chch at 9am and return at 3pm each Tuesday.
  2. "Eastenders"- 9am to 12noon on second and fourth Monday.
  3. "Omahu Team" - once a month on a Friday.
