Volunteering Canterbury is Canterbury's one-stop shop for everything to do with volunteering. With over 250 member organisations, it is Canterbury's leading agency for information, training, support, advocacy, and placement of volunteers.
It is governed by a Board with a minimum of 5 elected members and up to 4 Board appointed members representing Youth, Pacifica and Maori. Our current Maori Board seat is vacant and we are now seeking a representative of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu to join us.
Board meetings are held monthly (2 hours) and there is an expectation that members will attend all meetings. Additionally, there will be opportunity to contribute ideas, and advice through your area of expertise. Interested? We'd be keen to talk with you!
You will be helping Volunteering Canterbury's work to ensure that people and communities in our area prosper through volunteering.
Previous governance experience is not needed. The Board though are looking for people with medium to long term thinking and an ability to contribute ideas towards long term sustainability of Volcan.
Please give us an idea (in the other comments box below) of how you believe your skills could best help the Volcan Board achieve their goals and any previous experience you have had in the volunteer area.
A monthly meeting : times flexible to suit all Board members.
