Volunteers need to be fit enough to walk alongside the horse for up to an hour for each of the three sessions in the day.

Start time, 8.30am when leading horses to arena from paddocks and finish at 2.15pm by leading horses back to paddocks, SCHOOL TERMS ONLY.
Desire to assist the riders with their goal achievements, communication with riders and support for their abilities.
Horse leading skills may also be needed to maintain safe ride for therapy riders. Training given, our next New Volunteer Introduction workshop will be held at our arena in Northcote drive, Canterbury Agricultural Showgrounds, Wigram on Tuesday 11th February 2025 @1pm to 3pm.
At least one hour per week. Our arena opens at 8.30am, when volunteers catch and lead horses into yards.
1st riding session begins 9.45 to 10.45
2nd session 11am to 12noon.
3rd session 1.00 to 2pm then lead horses back to paddocks.
A good level of walking fitness required by volunteers. SCHOOL TERMS ONLY.
