Volunteers need to be fit enough to walk alongside the horse for up to an hour for each of the three sessions in the day.
Bring your own lunch
Start time, 9am and finish at 2pm school terms only. Training given.
Desire to assist the riders with their goal achievements, communication with riders and support for their abilities.
Horse leading skills may also be needed to maintain safe ride for therapy riders. Training given.
At least one hour per week. Our arena opens at 9am, when volunteers catch and lead horses into yards.
1st riding session begins 9.45 to 10.45
2nd session 11am to 12noon.
3rd session 1.00 to 2pm then lead horses back to paddocks.
A good level of walking fitness required by volunteers.
