Hōhepa is a charitable organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, connected lives in our community. Our mini farm in Halswell, called Gaia, is home to residents who grow their own vegetables in tunnel houses as part of daily life. As the weather improves, we are doing a lot more work out in the garden. We would love someone with a green thumb to help maintain this space with our staff and people. Having some knowledge around gardening practices would be an added bonus, but most importantly you must be enthusiastic to get stuck in.
Multiple positions available, days flexible.
Some Gardening knowledge would be advantageous but not a requirement.
Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities would be advantageous but not a requirement.
