Learn to fully use the Stepsweb online literacy programme and support ESOL learners to use this programme to further develop their English language skills. ESOL classes are held in Upper Riccarton -Tuesday and Friday mornings. You may also be required to train others in the programme as well, possibly in Wigram or the Central City on other days, but this is not essential.
Learn the programme, then work one-on-one with ESOL learners in Upper Riccarton to help them learn the programme and use it in class and at home.
We offer an annual training session, annual volunteers lunch, enjoyment and satisfaction of helping others.
This role contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 Quality Education
Police clearance required. Computer or online learning programme skills, confidence, patience, compassion, sensitivity, listening skills, and sensitivity to ESOL learners, and interest in people from other cultures, particularly older Chinese learners.
