Governance Position

Christchurch South Community Gardens Trust

Attend and participate in a minimum of eight Board of Trustee general & planning meetings a year.

Help out at market days and other fund raising activities.

Volunteer on the ground as able e.g. in the garden, pickling and preserving, building, R&M.

We are an independent charitable trust operating in the Christchurch South area since 1999.. Our goal is to contribute to neighbourhood sustainability in a meaningful way and to share our skills and resources with local communities.

There are a number of practices that are either planned or in place to drive improvement at the Christchurch South Community Gardens: including: seasonal market days; crop production; community workshops; local sustainability group.

Requirements:

Ability to understand the financial and general operations of a not for profit organisation and to take responsibility for one's own learning about our Trust.
Online / digital competency.
Must enjoy a diverse working environment.

Guiding principles that guide behaviour at the gardens: collective accountability; respsect; fairness and justice; being couraggeous; welcoming diversity; continuous learning.

Time commitment:

Eight Board meetings per year, specific time commitment to be confirmed with the organisation.
