We are looking for a warm, open and empathetic person(s) who will work well alongside our talented team. You might be located at Rānui House, or our new place Rānui Apartments which opened in November 2024.
You might be in the laundry, on the end of a vacuum cleaner, practicing your hospital corners bed-making or working in the communal kitchen - heaps of variety and a whole lot of fun.
You will have a natural ability to relate well to people be they a patient, family member, or one of our team. Loads of initiative, a sense of humour and bright outlook on life in general along with a strong work ethic will see you fit in with our team well. This position reports to our Head Housekeeper.
Key tasks and responsibilities: -
Operate the laundry, load, unload and fold
Restock housekeeping trolleys
Help clean a room
Vacuum public areas
Cleaning public areas
Sanitising the House
Stocking the family pantries in the kitchen
Prior to joining our team, all volunteers are to complete an application form, reference checks, criminal history check and volunteer agreement.
Once complete then the volunteer will undertake our onboarding programme with our CEO and House Manager, which takes around 1.5 hours and includes a ‘Welcome’ presentation, read and understanding of position descriptions, our Code of Conduct and Health & Safety Policies, full site inspection and introduction to our team and receive a copy of our Volunteer Handbook.
3 hours per shift is ideal – however we are flexible, 7-days a week, this include weekend days
