FC Twenty 11 is a football club based on the west side of Christchurch. Home to over 1000 members, we are looking for a detail-oriented and focused volunteer coordinator to be responsible for our database of volunteers and volunteer opportunities.
The Volunteer Coordinator should:
Provide a focal point for volunteers and volunteering within the club.
Facilitate the recruitment, retention, recognition, and reward of volunteers within the club.
Determine each year the various tasks that are needed for the club to operate efficiently and effectively and match volunteer skills and interests to those positions.
Ensure that new volunteers are welcomed appropriately and are clear on their role/responsibilities including whom to approach if any difficulties are encountered. Each year arrange orientation and appropriate briefings for each volunteer.
Issue documentation that clearly sets out each volunteer’s role and commitments; make any adjustments as necessary.
Ensure individual volunteers are given appropriate support and guidance to maintain their enthusiasm.
Identify means of recognising and rewarding volunteers.
Attend club events, matches and fundraising initiatives to promote and encourage new volunteers.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Ideally, a Volunteer Coordinator is someone who:
Can communicate effectively and has good interpersonal skills.
Has intermediate computer skills.
Is positive and enthusiastic.
Is well organised.
Has their own computer/laptop & internet connection

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Time commitment is varied from week to week. The expectation is that this role could take up to 10-15 hours each month for the few first months as we get the role embedded and then less as the role settles. The club runs year-round football but predominately assistance is required during March - Sept during the winter football season.
Whilst most of the work can be completed at home there will be a requirement to attend fundraising events, football games and meetings when required.
