Volunteer Opportunities

Te Whare Awhero/Hornby School and Community Project Volunteers

TWA is seeking volunteers to support the work we are doing in the greater Hornby area. We are working with 2 local schools to support children develop and gain new opportunities in the following areas;

  1. Development of a veggie gardens in schools
  2. Supporting an in-school Construction Club (woodwork) no experience necessary, training provided.
  3. Volunteers to support Reading Support in schools e.g. commit to reading with a child once a week.
  4. Supporting an experienced Drama artist run a weekly school Drama Club.

Our community projects require volunteers for the following;

  1. Knowledgeable volunteer to support an adult fortnightly community vegetable group, also run in Hornby.
  2. When needed we provide working bee's for our Whānau Support families for garden clean ups, if you would like to be included on the list of volunteers willing to be called on for this role, please get in touch, these happen as and when required, but not all that frequently.
