GirlGuiding NZ Unit Leader - Rangiora

Organisation:
GirlGuiding Canterbury
Location:
Rangiora
Category:
Youth & Children
Hours:
Evenings/Weekends

GirlGuiding New Zealand is all about adventure, friendship, and helping girls grow into confident young women. From Pippins (5–6 yrs), Brownies (7-9yrs), Guides (9-12 yrs) to Rangers (12–17 yrs), our girls need inspiring leaders like YOU. 💜

✨ No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm, creativity, and a love of fun!
✨ Make new friends, learn new skills, and be part of a worldwide community.
✨ Enjoy adventures, laughter, and the joy of seeing young girls and young women grow.

Volunteering with GirlGuiding isn’t just about giving — it’s about gaining too. Friendship, fun, and memories included! 💫

Requirements:

What being a leader looks like:

  • Attending one weekly session (around 1–2 hours during term time).
  • Helping plan and run activities with your team. Joining the fun on trips, camps, or occasional events.
  • Taking part in training and planning meetings (just now and then).

What we're looking for:

  • A passion for inspiring girls and young women.
  • Encouragement, patience and a willingness to give things a go.
  • Someone reliable who enjoys being part of a team.

If you're ready to make a difference while having a lot of fun, we'd love to hear from you! You don't need prior experience; we'll support you with training and a network of other leaders. (Must be 16+ due to safety requirements)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • 1–2 hours per week for the unit meeting (during school term time)
  • Plus a little extra for planning and preparation — around 2–3 hours total each week
  • Occasional camps, events, or training may also pop up (always supported by your team)

If that doesn’t quite fit, we’d love to talk with you about other flexible ways to get involved.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
