This position is available 10am-12noon and 12noon - 2pm on weekdays and Saturdays. As a New Brighton Info Centre volunteer you will staff an information desk positioned in St Faith's Church. Some days you will work alongside other agencies based in the church who offer community services. You will talk with visitors and find information online and in pamphlets available to help with their requests. Sometimes visitors come to the church to look around inside following the completion of restoration work from earthquake damage and everyone makes them welcome.
You need to be friendly and willing to be a good listener when talking with those who come seeking information. Being flexible makes the work enjoyable - each day is a bit different from the last. You need to enjoy seeking information from the database we have online and from the leaflets at the Info desk. Your time will be appreciated and make a difference to those who come to the Info Centre.
We are asking for a commitment of time once a week 10am-12noon or 12noon - 2pm weekdays or 10 - 12noon on Saturdays.
