We need a volunteer who enjoys being with people, who can be friendly and welcoming to visitors who call in to Te Waka Aroha - the community lounge - and who enjoys working with other volunteers. We hope you will be willing to offer a cup of tea/coffee to visitors and to listen to concerns when people want to talk. If you want to give some time to supporting your community and enjoy some good company at the same time, volunteering at Te Waka Aroha could be right for you.

Requirements:

You need to be a person who likes being with others, can be friendly to people from all walks of life you haven't met before, and be a good listener in conversations.
You will be a flexible person willing to support activities offered in the lounge and to work in with other volunteers.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Weekdays from 10am - particularly Tues and Thurs mornings.
A gift of two hours of your time would be appreciated.
