Lead small groups of visitors in a cheerful & enthusiastic style on walks in central Christchurch. As our walks combine information on the history, recent past and current development of our city, guides need to have a good knowledge of Christchurch & Canterbury. However Walk Christchurch has a range of resources to support guides, it provides structured induction/training & familiarisation for new guides as well as ongoing education/training for all guides. Guides are expected to be available for up to 4 walks each month in the busy visitor season with a lesser commitment in other months. Each walk will involve up to 4 hours including: leading the walk (2.5 to 3 hours) and operating the kiosk for up to 30 minutes prior to each walk. Guides are expected to be available for 2-4 training/education sessions each year.
Fit & active to lead walking groups in a cheerful & enthusiatic manner. Good comunication skills with a diverse range of walkers. Good general knowledge about Christchurch & Canterbury.
Up to 4 walks per month with a total of 4 hours per rostered walk. Plus attendance at 2 - 4 training sessions per year.
