Opportunity to support adult students with intellectual impairments in a learning situation where they are developing their literacy and numeracy skills, during school hours. Under the direction of the tutor you will support students to read, to write, and to do basic numeracy activities. Volunteer may be working one on one with different students during the time or may work with small groups of students, supporting them to play a game or engage in some kind of learning activity.
Volunteer needed on Monday mornings in the central city. Volunteers do one shift weekly or more if they wish.
The students are a delight to spend time with and they value the support they get.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to support the learners to improve their skills. Annual volunteer training session and end of year volunteer lunch. No parking at venue sorry. Satisfaction of helping others.

Good level of oral and written English and basic maths skills. Lots of patience, caring, adaptable, accepting, gentle, non judgemental attitude and able to commit to regular attendance on allocated morning.
Monday mornings 9.00 am - 12.30 pm.
