Special Olympics Canterbury (SOC) Basketball Coach

Basketball Coach - More coaches are required to help at the training sessions. The Club has many athletes wishing to train but, at present, not enough coaches for the numbers. Special Olympics New Zealand National Games are being held here in Christchurch in December 2025; this is the start of the buildup for our teams.

Requirements:

If you have played Basketball or still play, excellent otherwise keenness is most important; experience would be great but not necessary. Experienced coaches will be on hand to guide the training sessions.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Each Monday evening, for an hour during the season. This coach's role will be for the B and C teams, start time 5.45 pm and continue until 6.45 pm. The season starts training in March until late September, this timeline may change depending on how many teams Canterbury enter into the Special Olympics National Games. being held here in Christchurch, starting December 10.
