Christchurch Envirohub is actively recruiting two new members for our Trust Board:
Trustee - (No specific requirements)

Christchurch Envirohub provides environmental and sustainability organisations in Greater Christchurch, with a variety of digital and physical tools and services to help connect, support, educate and inspire, upholding kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga.

To achieve this, the Trust will carry out the following;

  • Support environmental groups and their projects;
  • Advance education in the field of sustainability, environmental protection and community resilience;
  • Facilitate collaboration and innovation between environmental groups
  • Provision of digital and physical support services to help the environmental and sustainability sector

Skills/Competencies
The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strategic development and implementation, helping navigate the growth stage and setting long-term vision.
  • Interest in/passion for sustainability is useful
  • Apply principles of kaupapa Māori
  • Previous experience being on a board
  • Good attention to detail
  • In touch with the environmental, community and sustainability network within Christchurch but also the wider Canterbury regions.
  • Experience providing co-governance and working with a team to discuss and reach reasonable decisions

  • Secretary experience
  • Accounting and finance experience
  • Event planning experience
  • Treasury experience
  • Submission writing experience
  • Organisational strategy experience
  • Funding and sponsorship strategy experience
  • Youth and Education

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission, principles and values of Christchurch EnviroHub.
  • Relevant expertise in areas such as environmental education, conservation, ecology,
    sustainability, finance, governance, fundraising, or legal matters.
  • Ability to commit the necessary time and effort to fulfil Trustee responsibilities.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to transparency.

Meetings and Communication:

  • Attend regular in-person board meetings (1st Tuesday of the month 6 to 8pm) and other relevant organisational events.
  • Stay informed about Christchurch EnviroHub's activities and financial health.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with fellow Trustees, staff, and stakeholders.
Time commitment:

Attend regular in-person board meetings.
2-4hrs per month or 12 meetings per year
(1st Tuesday of the month 7 to 8.30pm)
