Location:

Working Hours

Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands? Do you like fixing things, problem solving or working out how things go?

PIPS is looking for some Volunteer Equipment Coordinators, who can check, clean and sort donated equipment, so we can get it back out to families in need. Tasks may include, logging in-coming equipment, building and safety checking cots or bassinets, cleaning and safety checking prams (including fixing the odd broken wheel!), stripping car seats to wash and clean, dropping items to different locations for further work, plus cleaning/checking other smaller equipment (e.g. bouncers, baby baths, Pepi-Pods) as they comes in!

The PIPS team will provide training in health and safety checking and disassembly/assembly of the equipment. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and get stuck in!

We have a small, dedicated team of volunteers at PIPS, that help to keep our drop-in centre running smoothly and help us support over 1,100 Canterbury families, each year. We would love to add you to our team! We offer a supportive environment. Our volunteers are like family, providing a rich and diverse workplace - where we love to have fun!

If this sounds like you, please get in touch.

Requirements:

This role requires someone who is physically fit (lifting and carrying equipment will be required), happy to be working in a warehouse space, a keen problem solver who’s happy to get their hands dirty and someone who enjoys a hot cuppa and chat with the team!

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

This role would ideally suit someone keen to volunteer for 2 hours or more per week. We have a range of shifts available from Tuesday-Friday between 9.30am - 4pm. We are also happy to welcome a couple/pair/friends who would like to volunteer together - we can be flexible on days/times to find the right people!

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
