Key Responsibilities:
Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:
Conduct thorough research to identify relevant grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
Stay updated on funding trends, guidelines, and eligibility criteria to maximise grant application success.
Grant Proposal Development:
Collaborate with program managers and team members to gather information and understand the objectives, outcomes, and budget requirements of proposed projects.
Develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organisation's mission, programs, and impact to potential funders.
Ensure grant proposals are well-structured, accurate, and align with the specific guidelines and requirements of each funding opportunity.
Grant Application Process:
Prepare and submit grant applications within specified deadlines, adhering to all submission guidelines and formatting requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant applications, correspondence, and outcomes.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary supporting documents, such as financial statements, project budgets, and program descriptions.
Grant Reporting and Compliance:
Assist in preparing grant reports as required by funders, ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines and deadlines.
Monitor and track grant expenditures and outcomes to ensure alignment with funding requirements.
Maintain knowledge of grant compliance regulations and best practices to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to grant terms and conditions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, nonprofit management, business, or a related discipline).
Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Strong research and analytical skills to identify appropriate funding opportunities.
Familiarity with grant funding processes, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with grant management software is preferred.
