In life, knit happens, but as a volunteer with Knit for Purpose 2025, you will be stitching something meaningful into the community. So don’t get tangled up in hesitation, this is your sign to cast on with a new opportunity and help make our community better, one stitch at a time.đŸ§¶

Yes that's right, in 2025 we are once again running our Micro-Volunteering Project "Knit for Purpose"! We are seeking volunteers to knit or crochet squares or strips of squares for blankets, which will be donated to those in need in our community through local organisations. Whether you are a knitting newbie or a seasoned pro, all are welcome to get involved. You can knit on your own, teach your whānau, get your craft group involved or invite your neighbours to join in.

By micro-volunteering with us you will experience the joy of having a meaningful impact for individuals in need. Together, we can Make Your Mahi Have Meaning, one stitch at a time!

Requirements:

Knitting skills, or the enthusiasm to learn
Willingness to give a few hours of your time
