House of Science Drivers
House of Science provide science resource kits to over 50 primary and intermediate schools all over Christchurch. These kits are delivered in our Serena van or through volunteer drivers to schools on a Monday or Tuesday mornings then collected the following Thursday or Friday afternoon. They are delivered back to our offices where a team of volunteers check them and restock them ready for delivery the following week.
We are after drivers who can make a commitment to drive and collect or deliver kits on a Thursday or Monday or Tuesday mornings. They must have a clean drivers license and be physically able to lift our kits into our van. Our kits are in large plastic containers which are 40 cm high, 40 cm wide and 60 cm long and can weigh 20 kgs or more. We have trolleys that can be used to take the kits into the school or bring them out to the van, but drivers must be able to lift and stack them in our van.
Drivers must have a clean and current drivers license. Some of our kits are quite heavy so the driver needs to be physically able to move and stack these kit.
We are looking for drivers that can make a commitment to one or more days. The days we require drivers is every second Thursday and Friday afternoon and the following Monday and Tuesday mornings. Delivery and collection of our kits can take between 2-3 hours
