The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust (RYALT) is seeking a dedicated volunteer literacy coach in Sydenham to provide valuable support to an adult female student in need. You will meet at a local library or community centre for the lessons. As a Literacy Coach, you have the opportunity to give back and make a real difference in someone's life. What we're looking for: We welcome individuals with or without teaching experience, as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support. Prefer someone with an educational background if possible. Patience. Good computer skills. Excellent spoken English, reading and writing skills. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written). Reliable. A friendly, empathetic personality. We train you and give you all the support you need.
1-2 hours per week 30-45 min lessons once or twice a week in person at a public venue.
