Would you like give/gift us and Sister Eveleen retreat House your skills and time?
Sister Eveleen Retreat House is seeking aome dedicated volunteers to help us maintain our Main House and Annex.
Sister Eveleen is a weatherboard house built in 1930s in the most stunning location on Scarborough Hill overlooking Pegasus Bay.
It is a contemplative retreat house in which many seek to experience God’s sacred presence and find rest and replenishment.
Sister Eveleen bequeathed this house in 1939 as a house of prayer and spiritual help. It is owned by the Anglican Church and runs ecumenically.
The spiritual ministry at Sister Eveleen Retreat House is rooted in western Christian contemplative spirituality.
Sister Eveleen Retreat House welcomes anyone seeking peace, solitude and quiet regardless of their faith background.
Everyone is welcome to visit and spend time in prayer and contemplation.
Maintainance volunteers are expected to offer their time to help around the retreat house, and provide between 1 – 3 hours of unpaid work fortnightly or monthly (flexible, but regular times would be preferred).
Volunteers are encouraged to time their hours around the prayer rhythm (before or after) if they wish.
