Thorpe House at the Christchurch City Mission is looking for a volunteer Chaperone to support our clients on their daily morning outing, every Wednesday morning for 1.5 hours (9:30 -11:00am).
You’ll be required to accompany clients on a walk through the central city, fostering connections through friendly conversation. Your companionship and support will enhance the well-being of the clients and empower them to share their thoughts and feelings.
What You’ll Do:
• Accompany clients on walks
• Provide companionship and support
• Assist with light housekeeping duties (room prep/laundry) as required
• Be available to fill in for absences, ensuring consistent support for our clients.

• Experience in a healthcare or support role is preferred, but not essential
Please note, if you are a current client accessing our services, you will not be eligible for this role.
