Dame Ngaio Marsh lived most of her life in Cashmere and her house is preserved much as it was when she lived there. The Ngaio Marsh House and Heritage Trust now run Ngaio Marsh House as a museum. Help us to tell the story of this world-renowned crime writer.
Ngaio Marsh House and Heritage Trust is looking to approach fundraising in a different way in 2025 and we’d love for you to be part of our journey. We are looking to set up a team of 4 – 5 people to commit to Ngaio Marsh House for a year and help us design and run our fundraising programme. You would be committing your time from January – December 2025 and you would be starting from scratch, including setting the fundraising target for the year. We are hoping the team can work together, be creative and have a lot of fun in the process! As a member of the fundraising team your responsibilities will include: • Develop a plan for fundraising for 2025 • Identify a target $ amount to fundraise for the year • Investigate the feasibility of different fundraising methodologies for NMH • Identify a reasonable number of fundraising activities to implement in 2025. Please note that the work of the fundraising team will complement the other income generating activities of the Trust such as tours and grants. Responsibility for these activities sit with other roles and the teams remit excludes grants and tours of the house. Requirements: • Excellent communication skills and able to tell a compelling story • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook • Ability to commit to the mahi for the year • Able to manage your own time and work well with others Preferred • Experience in fundraising
Time commitment:
You are welcome to do the mahi when it suits you, as long as you are able to meet the deadlines for any events you set. As this is a new approach for us, we are unsure how much time you will need to commit, but we hope this approach makes for a much more sustainable volunteering experience
