Celebrating International Volunteer Day 2024

On Thursday 5th December 2024, we spent the day at Climate Action Campus, Ōtautahi to celebrate International Volunteer Day 2024! 🎉 🌍 What better way to honour the amazing volunteers who Make their Mahi have Meaning every single day in our community than by sharing kai and kōrero, in the sunshine, with some Random Acts Of Music fun!

Wow, what a mammoth month for our Group Volunteering programme! IAVE 27th World Volunteer Conference 2024

Our General Manager, Glenda, was recently fortunate to attend the IAVE 27th World Volunteer Conference 2024. This was an inspiring time, particularly around the power of volunteering and connection in addressing social isolation issues. VolCan at VNZ Hui

Our team had an awesome couple of days attending the 2024 Volunteering New Zealand Changemakers Hui - Engage, Unite, Ignite! We learnt a lot from some fantastic speakers on the topics of resilience for community organisations, emergent tech, particularly the evolving AI landscape, valuing volunteers, engaging young volunteers, and new tools for navigating challenging behaviour. Thank you to Volunteering New Zealand and their team for their hard work and organisation in bringing the conference together!

Celebrating Diversity at Selwyn CultureFest!

We had a blast at the Selwyn CultureFest 2024! What a great turnout of attendees, and a wonderful celebration of the diversity of the region. Visitors to our stall micro-volunteered by decorating paper Bags of Hope for the Cancer Society, resulting in a large number of beautiful bags! Thank you to everyone who came along.
