As a community health and clinical service charity that receives no government funding, we need all the help we can get in raising funds for services for our chronically ill community.

People kindly donate items for us to list and sell on Trade Me. We need someone to pick these items up, prepare them for listing on Trade Me, and then help with pickup or delivery to the buyer. (We have another volunteer who lists the items on Trade Me and does initial communication with the buyers.)

Items are stored in our office in Sydenham.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Coordinate drop off or pickup of items donated to us (you may need to be available to meet the donor at our office).
  • Clean items if necessary.
  • Prepare information about the items for the Trade Me listings i.e. take photos, describe the items, measure the item to estimate delivery fee.
  • Package and post sold items.
  • Be available to meet buyers at the office for pickup.
  • (Optional) source new items to sell from garage sales, etc (we can provide a small budget for this).

Requirements:
  • Well organised
  • High level of honesty
  • Reliable
  • Can take reasonable photos of items
  • Can write descriptions for listings
  • Available to communicate with buyers in a timely way

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Estimated at an average of one hour per week, but communication with buyers must be prompt.
