MECFS Canterbury
We are a community health and clinical service organisation for people affected by the debilitating illness ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of people and whānau affected by ME/CFS in Canterbury, and the West Coast, by providing information, validation, clinical support, connection, and advocacy. We also provide education about ME/CFS to health and other professionals. Our services include a Registered Nurse Service, regular support and education meetings, an online peer-support forum, an Outreach Service, newsletters, advocacy, and access to resources and education. Facilitate connections, relationships and support within the ME/CFS community in Christchurch to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
Host online craft group
Host a weekly online craft group for our chronically ill community
Preparer of donated goods for sale
Help us raise funds for our community by sourcing and preparing second hand goods for sale
Volunteer Coordinator - Outreach Service
Recruit, onboard, place and supervise volunteers involved in our Outreach Service for people living with a chronic illness.
Client Outreach and Support - Selwyn
Facilitate connections, relationships and support within the ME/CFS community in Selwyn to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
Sponsorship and Fundraising Lead
Develop partnerships and coordinate fundraising events to increase funding for critical services and support for people living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Long Covid
