Sponsorship Lead

Organisation:
MECFS Canterbury
Location:
Home Based
Category:
Marketing & Communications
Hours:
Both/Flexible

MECFS Canterbury provides services that make a real difference for people with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) but we do not receive any government funding to do this.

To meet the needs of our chronically ill community appropriately, we need to attract sponsorships and other partnerships.

Do you have the experience and passion to help us to continue to make an important difference?

People have told us...

  • "If I hadn't met with the Nurse who validated my experience of my chronic illness and advocated for me with my GP to obtain a diagnosis, I would not be here. Life had got too hard."
  • "I love this organisation, so caring and respectful in everything that they do, and always looking to progress forward."

The Sponsorship Lead is expected to:

  • Develop a plan to increase funding through major gifts, appeals, regular giving, events, corporate sponsorship, discounts, and bequests.
  • Maintain promotional material for potential funding partners and fundraising activities.
  • Maintain relationships and communication with potential and existing sponsors and partners.
  • Support the Grants team to build relationships with gaming trusts and community foundations. (Note that it is expected that the Grants team completes any detailed grant applications.)

The role reports to the Board of MECFS Canterbury, and is supported by the Chairperson and Manager. If there is interest, there is the opportunity to also join the Board formally, and participate in the full range of governance matters.
